Our Impact
At Camp Quality we measure ourselves on our ability to positively impact the lives of kids facing cancer and improve their quality of life.

Program reach
In 2021, more than 9,100 kids aged up to 15 years dealing with cancer, and over 4,100 families, were registered with us nationally.
We continued to deliver our much-loved Kids’ Camps, Family Camps, Family Retreats and Family Fun Days and Experiences over the 2020-2021 period, wherever and whenever COVID-19 restrictions allowed us to hold them safely.
When we couldn’t do so, the digital services developed in 2020 put us in a strong position to continue to support children and families isolated by both cancer and the threat of COVID-19.

Social impact
Camp Quality’s services and programs have had a significant positive social impact on the lives of Australian children facing cancer and those who love them.

Cancer Education Program
Our Cancer Education Program was found to have a Social Return on Investment (SROI) of 502 per cent. This means for every dollar spent on the delivery of the program, there is an estimated $5 of social benefit generated – including reduced bullying and absenteeism.

Camps Reconnecting Families
A study by KPMG evaluating the impact of Camp Quality Family Camps and Kids’ Camps on kids and families found the experience had a profound effect on participants’ feelings of loneliness and ability to reconnect as a family unit.

Reduction in loneliness
There was a 14 per cent decrease in loneliness among parents, primary caregivers and patients, and a 22 per cent decrease in loneliness for siblings. In further positive news, there was a 15 per cent increase in family connection following the camp experience. An overall 17% reduction in feelings of loneliness.
Income and expenditure
Camp Quality’s fundraising income for 2021 was $17.6m. This made 2021 our most successful fundraising year ever, representing 115% growth from the previous year.

Fundraising income
Investment in cost effective revenue activities continued to deliver improved return on investment with the cost of total fundraising reducing from 52% in 2020 to 36% in 2021. Our administrative costs remain under 10% of our revenue.

Expenditure
In 2021, Camp Quality’s organisational expenditure was $14.7m. This figure was up across the organisation on the previous year due to the easing of restrictions which had previously impacted the delivery of our services and programs.

Program expenditure breakdown
In 2021, our expenditure on programs and services was $7m. This was up 61% from 2020 because of new and expanded services. This growth is expected to continue in 2022.
