Camp Quality is excited to announce that we have launched website registration forms, posters, postcards and brochures in five new languages: Arabic, Vietnamese, Chinese Traditional, Chinese Simplified and Hindi.
We want to ensure that ensure families of a child with cancer, who speak a language other than English, can access available support.
Camp Quality CEO, Deborah Thomas says, “Camp Quality’s mission is to provide valuable support to all Australian families going through the trauma of a child’s diagnosis. No family should miss out on the support they need.”
“These translated registration services mean every parent can easily register for Camp Quality’s programs. A free interpreter service is also available for those who speak other languages or need extra support. We look forward to many new families enjoying the benefit of Camp Quality’s supportive programs.”
Multicultural agency Ethnolink identified and translated the five commonly spoken languages. The project was funded by the CommBank Staff Foundation’s 2023 Community Grants program.
The translated registration journey is Camp Quality’s latest initiative towards better accessibility for Australia’s growing multicultural community.
In 2022, Camp Quality’s brand refresh changed its pink-faced logo to an inclusive yellow sunshine, and a redevelopment of the Cancer Education Program puppets created new multi-coloured characters.
In 2023 Camp Quality’s award-winning Kids’ Guide to Cancer website and app was translated into Arabic, Simplified and Traditional Chinese and Hindi. Since the launch over 12,500 people have accessed the translated cancer education resource, more than 50% in Arabic. Check out Camp Quality’s Kids’ Guide to Cancer here.
In 2024 Camp Quality has seen an over 50% increase in Arabic families registering for support.
Further translation of Camp Quality’s Kids’ Guide to Cancer will launch next year.
